Snap, Tackle, Score!

Not sure which snippet of info I'd rather share first, the fact that I (or my mom to be exact) had the most amazing Barnes and Noble find this weekend (Shanks for Nothing by Rick Reilly for a whopping $1.62!!!!) or the incredible Saints' win that rocked the entire state of LA...

Forget the one-of-kind find (no offense Rick, I am still a number one fan), but I am still in shock/awe of the Saints' win. Right after Hartley kicked the winning field goal, I ran outside to see if pigs were flying. I ended up seeing fireworks and hearing blaring music with random Who Dat?! chants from around the neighborhood instead. What a night for the history books!
While I wish the NY Giants would have had a better season, I am pretty ecstatic about this NFC Championship win for the Saints (so what if I rooted against the Saints when they played the Giants). Yes, I am a Giants fan and a Saints fan (go ahead, hate me for it). I wish nothing but the best for the guys in NY who I spent the 2008 training camp with in lovely (in it's own twisted way) Albany; however, as a Louisiana native I have been raised to root for the Saints (and the Lions, despite both of their many losing seasons). The only time I will not root for the Saints (either openly or secretly) will be when they play the Giants. That being said, Feb. 7 cannot get hear soon enough!

According to ESPN, when asked about returning for the 2010 season, Brett Favre said that it was "highly unlikely." Favre, you are (were?) a great quarterback, but really, take a seat on the bench (for good!). Kudos to a 40-year-old man attempting to prove doubters wrong. Now, for the love of the game, make a decision to retire or fight it out (until you get put on IR and are forced out), and stop the indecisive "I'm quitting, I'm coming back" nonsense! Oh what a long summer lies ahead of yet again the Brett Favre retirement craze--round three.

In more intellectual news...
I am slowly converting to a CNBC fan (eeek!). Trust me, I never saw this day coming, but I recently caught a special on Google and was instantly intrigued. Change is good. Perhaps this is a good change and maybe, just maybe it will aid me in my pursuit of an MBA.

WHO DAT?!

Spring is in the air and yes, it's only January. B-E-A-UTIFUL day!

Last night was a splendid night for television. I started the night off perfectly with the following sequence of events:
1. Left work an hour earlier than expected
2. Picked up a cab (as in wine) and pint of Kleinpeter chocolate ice cream
3. Checked out from Fresh Market with a $10.00 (yes, that included tax and yes, a perfect 10)grand total

I then hurried home to watch the debut of The Deep End on ABC. Fabulous show! In fact, I might have to make it a Thursday ritual. Then, I watched a new episode of The Office on NBC, followed by...The Jersey Shore season finale!

Yes, this incredible, life-changing (or should I say self-esteem boosting) show has come to an end. Snookie will no longer be strutting her stuff across the television as she searches for her prince guido. "The Situation," Ronnie and Vinnie will no longer be busting through their muscle shirts (well at least not on-air). JWOWW will now only have her Web site to continue connecting with fans. Pauley D on the other hand will continue to make appearances and show off his deejaying skills in bars across America. We will miss your entertainment Jersey Shore cast...Fist Pump!

Now on to the most important part of the weekend that lies ahead...the NFC Championship! I wouldn't want to jinx anything, so all I'm going to say is: WHO DAT?!

Keep it real and keep the Dome rockin' Who Dat Nation!

Relax and Rant

I absolutely, positively LOVE three day weekends. I splurged and spoiled myself with large sums of R&R (in other words, rest and relaxation)!

It's official! I am now the proud owner of a Drew Brees t-shirt jersey (be jealous!). After the Saints trampled the Cardinals on Saturday, I decided that in order to be associated with the Who Dat nation, I should probably own a Saints t-shirt. WHO DAT?! Bring on the Vikings!

In other news, thoughts, rants, discoveries, etc., Baton Rouge infrastructure construction needs to seriously be reevaluated. Does the state of Louisiana even consider how their road work affects their publics? I cannot even begin to explain the frustration I have experienced the last two days during my commute to work. I'll save you the pain of reading rant upon rant about this and instread I'll sum it up in one word: RIDICULOUS!

While I'm at it, I also have a bone to pick with 103.3. I will gladly confess that I love Miley Cyrus' song Party in the USA (you know you love it too). In fact, my love is so great that I had my brother go through the trouble of creating a Party in the USA ringtone for me. When I turn the radio on and I hear those fabulous, familiar notes, I get goose bumps(not really, but they are definitely trying to surface)and I expect to hear Miley belt out her song. This morning 103.3 decided to play a terrible joke on me and instead of hearing Party in the USA, I heard Party in the MIA! Really 103.3?! I mean I like the Saints as much as the next Who Dat car crawling in traffic (unless of course Bobby Hebert is being chauffered around town), but please, for the love of all things Miley, keep the lyrics legit!

Whew! Now that I have ranted all of the latest, I must leave you with the greatest discovery of the week...Metromint's Chocolatemint water from Fresh Market (new obsession)! Yes, you read that right-chocolate mint water. REFRESHING! Get yours now (all the cool kids are doing it)! http://www.metromint.com/

Ready, Set, Launch

While professors have forced me to create blogs in the past, I have been digging my heels into the ground trying to hold out as long as possible to avoid blogging simply for my own pleasure (and yours as well). The time has finally arrived for me to join the wonderful world of blogging. I will assure you that I will do my best to do my duty to serve you--my readers.

I anticipate many hours of frustration and aggravation while I pursue this blogging endeavor, but no need to fret, I will stand strong! Technology seems to be improving at a rapid pace these days, but I refuse to let Blogger win. Bear with me and I promise to provide you great insight to all of the latest and greatest (and occasionally the not-so-great)events/happenings.

Prepare yourselves for the blog of the century (OK maybe not quite, but why not shoot for the stars?)Ready, set, launch!
